| My family lived in Dr Mears, Meadow Rd house until the 1970s.My grandmother was Ann Watson who ran the Telephone exchange ,and her daughter Ella had the Tea Room.I think, helped by her daughters, she ran the exchange untl after the War.I remember the switchboard was in the frontroom of the house.My grandmother slept beside it so that she could deal with the night calls!I do have a photo of the house when it was the Tea Room. I will try to put together anything that I think might be of interest and email it. | ||
