Help for Heroes Charity Jazz Night

My name is Amy Henderson and i'm a 4th year IR student at St Andrews University. I, along with 3 others are organising a Help for Heroes Charity Jazz Night.

We are holding the event at the Byre Theatre on Saturday 22nd May and we would love as many people to come as possible, so any help you might be able to offer us would be greatly appreciated.

Please find attached below the details of the evening.

Start Time: Saturday, 22 May 2010 at 20:00

End Time: Sunday, 23 May 2010 at 01:00

Location: Byre Theatre, St Andrews

My name is Amy and last July I lost a friend of mine, Rifleman Daniel Hume, aged 22, to an IED in Afghanistan. Since that time, his mother, Wendy, who is like a surrogate mother to me, has spent much of her time tirelessly raising money for Help for Heroes. Ten months on from Daniel's death I feel it is time I did my part to help her raise as much money as possible for this wonderful cause.

So, about a month ago I managed to get a team together with three other friends, Michelle, Chris, and Livy, to help organise a Jazz Night. We all have our military links. My father used to be in the Marines and my grandfather and Uncle in the RAF, Michelle's Dad fought in WWII, Chris' brother has recently returned from Afghanistan, and Livi has both family and friends in the Marines and RAF, with a couple having already served in Afghanistan. As a result the Help for Heroes cause is very close to our hearts and we want to do everything we can to promote it.

We are holding a Live Jazz Night in the Byre Theatre in St Andrews on Saturday 22nd May with all proceeds going towards Help for Heroes. We would love as many people to come as possible, St Andrews locals, military personnel, and of course University staff! Now we know it is exam time in St Andrews, and many of you will be busy, but if you fancy a break for a good cause, then come along and support Help for Heroes!

Tickets are limited and cost just ?8 and include:

- Entry to the Byre bar
- A glass of bubbly on arrival
- A donation to Help for Heroes
- Live jazz from 'Jazz Works'
- Live music from St Andrews own 'Tom and Dom' (as seen in The Rule)

Both acts will bring you a selection of jazz, blues, and RatPack classics making it sure to be a great night! Come on... you know you want to!

Tickets are limited to 300 and will go on sale from Tuesday 11th May. Tickets are available to purchase from the BYRE THEATRE BAR (not the box office) OR alternatively if you would like to reserve a ticket and pay on the night call 07950 736 074.

Any reserved tickets will be available to pick up on the door on the night. Tickets that have not been claimed by 9pm will be made available for resale.

Any unsold tickets will be available on the door.

If you can't make it but would still like to make a donation please visit, www.bmycharity.com/jazznight and don't forget to add Gift Aid!

We hope to see you there so we can raise as much money as possible for this great charity!

Many Thanks

From The Help for Heroes Jazz Night Team
