Leuchars scoops national green award

Leuchars is one of several Fife communities which have been presented with prestigious environmental awards. They all received their awards at a ceremony in the Albert Halls, Stirling, on Monday for their efforts in creating beautiful, clean and sustainable neighbourhoods.

The green accolades, called Neighbourhood Awards, were presented to the communities in recognition of their successful improvements to their local streets and green spaces.

Leuchars Community Council collected a Merit award which was presented on their behalf to Carroll Finnie and Trish Graham by Wilson Ogilvie, past president of the World Robert Burns Federation.

The other winners included Leslie and Thornton Community Councils, and also Kirkcaldy High School Environment Improvement Group.
