The rotary club of cupar are hosting a bike and hike day at tentsmuir forest. Their committee has nominated CHAS, Ninewells Cancer Campaign, Water Aid and local causes as the charities they hope to raise funds for. Within the forest there are three mapped routes with colour coded way markers which form part of the kingdom of fife millennium cycle ways, All of which are suitable for a family fun day out. You can choose a route of 2 3/4 miles, 4 1/2 miles or 5 1/4 miles. Cycle begins at 11am. Bring a packed lunch or picnic alternatively we have planned a hike along the beach to view the seal colony that lie up on the beach during low tide. This walk is approximately 3 miles in total and follows the first part of the yellow coded cycle route which starts at the car park, once you have reached the ice house turn right onto the beach where the seal colony should be in view. The walk begins at 10am. Bring a packed lunch or picnic. All cars require a £1.00 coin to gain entry to the forest this is a gem of a beauty spot in the north east of fife and promises to be a day of fun for all. |
